>> our top story comes out of the south bay where a car crashed into a san jose home sending five people to the hospital. we have video of our helicopter partnership with abc seven news. it shows the seen from above the 5400 block of leigh ave. the accident yesterday afternoon involved to bmw's just a block away from the lee high school. kron 4 spoke with witnesses who say both drivers are students at that high school and were racing each other at the time of the crash. >> the silver bmw that the house loss control and hit the front of the red vehicle that hit the side of the intersection. >> of the five people injured. tour inside the house three were in the bmw. a woman in her '40's is in critical condition. kernite year-old daughter sustained not life-threatening injuries. police say both

driver traveling at a high rate of speed. the driver of the red bmw was not seriously hurt and was taken to the police department for questioning. >> there has been a spike in home burglaries this month and hercules. police say the east bay town has experienced 11 in just this month. many of the burglaries have been committed by the same group of suspects. >> five in one day. 11 throughout the month of april. most of those sent out of the 11 of the burglaries in april were they time between... many through open windows by forcing or smashing rear sliding glass doors. we are concerned that this warm weather causes people to leave more windows open and most barbarous are crimes of opportunity. people will knock on a door and see if someone answers a look for an easy entry into the house. people are leaving

their windows open during the day is so warm that makes an easy entry. >> for suspect and a warrant for the string of burglaries. police said there were driving a stolen white honda odyssey van that was recovered in richmond on monday. >> some other tips please mention. homeowners should not open doors to anyone they do not know. and make sure strangers know you are in the residence. if you must, tell strangers you're calling police. this tells anyone, with criminal intentions, to move on. hopefully it will prevent another burglary. >> allegations of a string child abuse have surfaced at and east bay preschool. police say, it was at the sunny side infant and preschool livermore, where two women were allegedly tying up infants and swallowing them so tightly, they could barely breathe. >> seven of the children were abused. they were forcefully tide and bound.

their arms and legs were tied up. they had a blanket placed over their faces. >> in addition, three of the seven infants were allegedly abused at upper respiratory problems. all parties say, the two women, sisters na zila sharaf and lida sharaf are the owners of the day care. both women are in custody, booked on several felonies, including felony child abuse. they face a nearly $1 million in bail. >> school officials, students and parents are on edge and antioch after dealing with several bomb threats at a district school. three of those threats happening just yesterday. >> that is in addition to 1 tuesday and another on monday. at deer valley high, students could be seen waiting for all to clear as

the party's checked the area. there been five bomb threats and the three days at this high school students are fed up. >> so far no threat has been credible yet. school officials said they would continue to treat everyone seriously. >> new this morning, last night the oakland police department along with the fbi searched 16 high-risk weapons related search warrant. 13 award for service at various locations in oakland. the other three in hayward, san leandro and antioch. >> awards are result of criminal investigations that led to multiple arrest of weapons and narcotics recovery. the operation concluded just after 1:00 a.m. this morning. the were no injuries and no reported uses of force during the operation. we will take a break. it is 407 . we have a live look showing us san francisco. erica just get was a weather update. we will gradually began to warm. we are off to a mild start once again this morning. we will be right back. =dj

seeing the westerly breeze. the on shore push keeping temperatures on the cool side. today is expected to be the coolest they of the weak in comparison to what we've seen for the past couple of days. temperatures will actually be around the seasonal average. here on future cast 4 by 12:00 we're talking fifties and by the bay. we will climb into 60 degrees territory for places like fairfield, concord, perhaps the livermore valley and all our south bay spots. >> heading into 3:00 the blue pulled back. we will see upper 50s along the coastline. all the approaches. looking good up the incline and across the upper deck. the san mateo bridge remember this was a hot spot yesterday. that are off to a great start both directions moving well. the drive 12-30 minutes. >> south bound 101, they are reconfiguring the lanes to southbound trip. regardless we are seeing a lot of space between cars. in the south bay, north bound 101 the problem for interstate 280. again the green on the road way censors coming out of the north bay. for those of you taking public transit. good to go. nonetheless reporter for ac transit, bart, or caltrans is shed. >> thank you erica. a three alarm fire gutted a home in san francisco. look at the video. smoke and flames were reported shooting out of a home of the 2000 block of vallejo street, and pacific heights. just before 11:00. the fire was contained in hour later. most of the damage was confined to the

upper floor in the attic of the three story home. and elderly brother and sister lived in the home since the 1970's. a few people saw what happened jump inside the burning home to help the siblings. and their dog get out safely. >> i tried to do a check of the building to make sure there was no one inside. it was quite difficult to breed. brief. i wanted to make sure there was a light inside people or animals. everyone was ok. of course my safety of everyone safety as well. >>--it was difficult to breathe. colin stewart took his cell phone video of the fire just minutes after he jumped in to help out the elderly siblings. you can see the huge flames and thick smoke hovering over the area. the fire caused hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage. the cause is still under investigation.
